Newly built to high environmental standards, the camp’s location in an exclusive-use concession means guides are permitted to conduct night drives and walks too, adding to the experience. With 3 nights here, you’re assured of rewarding game viewing; the area is famous for its predators – including leopard and wild dog – while elephant and buffalo are often seen on the floodplains in front of camp.

Flying from the Okavango Delta, it’s not long before a vast swathe of grassland comes into view: Savuti. The wild heart of the Chobe National Park, Savuti is famous for the quality of its game viewing as well as its dramatic nature. Enormous bull elephants may stand in the shade of your vehicle on a hot day; lions and hyenas may fill the night with the sounds of their battles. Your accommodation is Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge, sitting in grand isolation on one of the handful of hills scattered around this otherwise flat landscape. Guides lead morning and afternoon safari safari game drives but will also take you to see San Bushman rock art tucked away in the hills.
